On 25th July 2015 my husband and I brought months of exciting planning to what I can only describe as one of the best days ever, an epic day.
The day was perfect. We got married in the beautiful medieval church of St. Mary the Virgin, Walton East. I am the 4th generation on my Mum’s side to get married here, so it was even more special. However, after some research, it shows the first wedding was in 1814, eight generations ago.
Venerable Dennis Wight married us and made our wedding day very special and full of joy. He was always at the end of the phone or email if we had any questions and made our day personal to us.
The Church
The Church Wardens helped us clean and prepare the church. We had no hassle and endless help. Thank you to them, for all their help and making the day run smoothly.
As you can see from the photograph the church has such beautiful characteristics. We managed to fit a hundred guests in the church with a few standing at the back. Eighty to ninety could be seated comfortably during the ceremony. (We were aware of this ….however we couldn’t cut our numbers down… every weddings worse nightmare!!).
Payment
We paid a deposit when we booked the date with the vicar and received a breakdown of the costs. We made our final payment the night of the wedding rehearsal.
If anyone would like any further information on ceremonies in the church, please do not hesitate to contact us. Information on the church website or in the porch of the church.
